If you would like to learn how to map read and navigate effectively in the hills or even build on what you already know, we are providers of Bronze, Silver and Gold level NNAS. You will be in the capable hands of a qualified International Mountain Leader who has been teaching high level navigation to clients for many years.
Each level of the award is a two day course and covers grid references, bearings, back bearings, magnetic variation, pacing and timing including Naismith’s rule, map orientation, aiming off, attack points and relocation.
The bronze award will only cover a few of these skills but the Gold award will cover all aspects and is at a level equal to a qualified Summer Mountain Leader and once completed you will receive a certificate of your achievement.
The navigation training you receive are transferable skills so if you are considering doing a Trail Cycle Leader training course and you don’t feel so confident at map reading, come on one of these courses prior to your TCL.. It will stand you in good stead for the TCL assessment day.
