This is one cool custom build Ibis HD160. Guidelines for this build were “burly, Alps holiday bike”. O.k!!
So with that in mind and a decent budget, we got cracking! Full stealth Ibis HD160 “big hitter”. Fox 36 Floats up front, Cane Creek DB Air shock, Shimano gearing, big Saint brakes and some lovely Easton carbon bars and stem.
Everything had to be “stealth” on this HD160 build! The only shiny bit was the Kashima coating on the Fox forks. Riding wise, this could handle any alpine descent or even a tech downhill track! The best thing about using Ibis is you get light weight, yet amazingly stiff and hard wearing bikes.
Even though the idea behind this bike was for Alps style holidays and the odd uplift, its still an everyday ride. This would sit proud cruising around a trail centre or just a blast around the local woods.
The Ibis HD160 continues to impress with A* ratings from all the big bike magazine, even smashing its way into the Dirt 100. With people like Brian Lopes and Anne Caroline Chausson on board, things will only get better.
Check out Pink Bike’s glowing review here. MBR – “It’s definitely a race bike, and a damn good one at that”
