2014 Scott Genius LT 700- sneak peak- 650b- 27.5

Sneak Peek: First Glimpse of Scott’s 2014 Genius LT 700

After the massive update from the 2012 Scott Genius to the 650B (27.5-inch) wheel equipped 2013 version, it was only a matter of time until Scott also updated the Genius LT. The all-new Genius LT 700 also sports 650B wheels, 170mm of travel, and a new Nude shock manufactured by FOX (hooray!).

No more pull shock here… Suspension duties are still controlled by Scott’s Twinloc lever, changing the damping of both the front and rear simultaneously. Similar to the previous Nude shock, a flick of the Twinloc lever reduces the amount of sag and overall travel from 170mm to just 135mm.

Internal dropper post and derailleur cable routing, downtube protection, and cohesive graphics between the frame and components clean everything up nicely. SRAM X01 also does a nice job of keeping things tidy in the drivetrain department.

Just like the Genius, the Genius LT has a chip in the rear shock mount that can be flipped to adjust the geometry. In its slackest setting the bike has a 66.3-degree head angle. Chainstays are 439mm long.

The race-ready and full carbon Genius LT “Tuned” frameset, including dropouts and hardware,  weighs 2450 grams (5.4-pounds). The LT 10 version will sport a carbon front triangle and aluminum rear, and the LT 20 will be entirely aluminum.
