There’s always plenty to do in the Shropshire. Whatever your interest, you’ll find a huge range of events available, from guided walking & hiking, horse racing and country shows to farmers’ markets, art exhibitions, music & arts festivals, and of course we would encourage you to join us on a ride over those breath taking hills!

Just a five minute drive from Shropshire Hills MTB & outdoor pursuit centre is the small, historic market town of Church Stretton. Church Stretton, really is an area of outstanding beauty and often referred to as ‘Little Switzerland.’ As the name suggests, Church Stretton and its surroundings, form an ideal base for those country lovers cyclists and walking enthusiasts, it is also home to the famous Carding Mill Valley one of south Shropshires most beautiful areas . There are many cross-country routes, which are well marked for hikers, horse riders and mountain bikers alike.

The Long Mynd rises above the west of Church Stretton and is renowned for gliding, hang gliding and paragliding.  You can view where these activities take place on our links page.

Church Stretton is also home to the second highest golf course in England, as well a beautiful Antiques market layed out over four floors.

Just a stone throw away, we also have; Shrewsbury, one of England’s finest medieval market towns and the birthplace of Charles Darwin. To the South we have Ludlow with its spectacular Castle and world renown arts and food festivals, which are held annually in the summer months.

The popular destainations nearby are endless. One of our favourites for quaint shops & family days out is The Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site & Museum. Ironbridge is set in the beautiful Severn Valley and the sun always seems to shine! Situated just next door, is the town of Much Wenlock, where Dr. William Penny Brookes inspired the Modern Olympic Games.

There really is something for everyone.
