LongMynd Trails

The Long Mynd is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a series of hills with steep gullies locally known as Batches. In fact Minton Batch is regularly featured in MBR and What Mountain Bike magazine as one of the best single track descents in the UK, and its only minutes away from our centre. The centre and trails have been featured in Single Track, MBR and MBUK. Also featured in video edits on Dirt and Wideopens websites.

Pole Bank, the highest point of Long Mynd is 516 metres above sea level and on a good day Snowdon, Cadair Idris and the Brecon Beacons can easily be seen as can the Malvern hills to the south. There are many excellent trails to explore and there are trails to suit everyone and every ability.

Way Marked Trails

MTB-SHROPSHIRE is where it all started, owner Richard Davies and his team had a vision for making mountain biking more accesible to everyone on the Longmynd. So they devised a simple way marking system for the area. And got to work!

We now work in partnership with The National Trust and various other groups. We have produced our own trail map of the Longmynd, easy to follow way marked routes using a number system allows you to create your own ride depending on time and ability. All our experienced staff at the centre are there to help you plan your day to ensure you get the best riding Shropshire has to offer. Trail maps are £1 and can be collected from our centre, every £1 goes towards maintaining the trails.

If you don’t want to keep looking at a map all day, a qualified and experienced Trail Guide is always available for hire. He/She will make sure you have a safe yet exciting time and will give you some interesting local knowledge along the way. A Trail Guide can be hired for half a day or multiple days guiding and we also have a minibus for up to six people and bikes should a trip to the downhill course at Ludlow, the Welsh Trail Centres or Cannock be visited.

Not only for bikers there are a lot of breathtaking areas for walkers and families up on the LongMynd. There are some fantastic Geocache trails to follow in the local area to. Its a great way to spend a day and explore the area. What is Geocaching? Some Local Info and Geocache trails.
