It’s coming to that time of year again (seems earlier every year) when we will get to see the new line up of bikes from Scott.

The 2016 line up is sounding hotter than ever, improved price points, new e-bikes (will we see an E-Genius), 27.5+ wheel sizes in the range, a new range of cyclo cross (CX) bikes and as always a vast array of top quality road and mountain bikes.

This year we are off to Switzerland to view the Scott 2016 line up, we will be test riding, ordering and generally getting the feel for the 2016 range. On our return we will be posting an in depth blog of all the new bikes, feature, wheel sizes, etc… and also giving people the opportunity to pre-order their 2016 Scott bike.

With a vast amount of momentum behind the brand you can expect to see a really hot year for Scott. With the help of all their pro riders, such as Brendan Fairclough, Neko Mulally, Nino Schurter, Geoff Kabush and now GMBN riders Marc Beaumont and Neil Donoghue they have really been able to hone their already excellent bikes in to the must have bikes of the moment.

Scott have always been renowned for their cutting edge carbon fibre bikes and with the continued carbon technology sharing with Red Bull, the only way for the brand is up.

We will have a full range of bikes in stock and a huge range of demo bikes, so you can try before you buy, Up to 36 months 0% finance available on all 2016 Scott bikes. As one of the U.K’s leading Scott dealer/ Stockist/ demo centres, we pride ourselves on the quality of our service.

Just confirmed is the Scott Genius Plus, Genius LT Plus, E-Genius Plus and Scale Plus

Now this is a monster of a bike and the one I was fortunate enough to test ride for two days in the Tuscany. 160mm travel at both ends combined with the chunky tires, the LT Plus has the potential to take on some rowdy terrain. Travel can be adjusted via the new TwinLoc lever from full lockout, 100mm travel or 160mm. The FOX 36 fork has also has the addition of low speed compression which wasn’t on option on older TwinLoc systems. Again the front triangles are shared with the existing bikes, but the alloy rear triangle is new to accommodate Boost 148mm hubs. Big hit capability is upped again with the EVOL air can on the LT 700 Tuned Plus and LT 710 Plus models, and even has bigger volume spacers fitted. The Tuned version weighs in at a (claimed) 28lbs, and still no XL sizing for the tall guys.

There are three models of Genius Plus. The 700 Tuned Plus and 710 Plus use carbon mainframes, while the 720 Plus is alloy. Mainframes are shared with Genius 900 models but with a new alloy rear triangle to accommodate Boost 148mm wide hubs and create tire clearance for the wider rubber. Scott’s literature says the chainstays are “super short” at 445mm, to which I would disagree, now that ‘super short’ would be considered 435mm or less even on 29″ bikes. The TwinLoc lever had been re-designed for 2016, and is now mounted underneath the handlebar on the left hand side, travel is adjustable between full lockout, 90mm or 130mm. Aggresive Nobby Nic tires front and rear.

2016 Scott Scale Plus
2016 Scott Scale Plus

The Scale Plus is not to be confused with its pure-bred XC racing brother. The Scale Plus is marketed as a trail bike opposed to a racing machine, with more relaxed geometry alloy frames which weigh in at 1580g. The 710 model comes with a FOX 32 and the 720 model is the only bike to see a Suntour Raidon fork.

Scott E-Genius 710 Plus, E-Genius 720 Plus & E-Contessa Genius 720 Plus

2016 Scott E-Genius 710 Plus

The Scott E-Genius Plus has 140mm front suspension travel and 130mm at the rear. Internally routed cables make for a very clean look. The Scott E-Genius Plus is equipped with the new Bosch Performance CX mid-drive motor with 250 Watts and higher torque. Scott fits it with their own motor cover.

The seatstay bridge was conceived to give maximum tyre clearance with the shortest possible rear end. The factory fitted Schwalbe 3.0“ Nobby Nic tyres fit without problems.

SCOTT chose Fox forks and shock with their in-house 3 level Twinloc-Technology, which has been further refined for 2016.
